Meet the experience
Wanda has over 19 years of experience serving the community, including volunteering with Narcotics Anonymous Hospital and Institutions at the Safety Center, as well as numerous drug treatment facilities throughout Modesto where she shares her story. She has led Recovery 12 Steps and Bible studies at the Redwood Family Center and the Modesto Gospel Mission. Her journey to recovery and wholeness forged her commitment to show others that there is a way out of homelessness and hopelessness—one day and one step at a time—but not alone.

Staying in a sober living house saved me from addiction and taught me many life skills. This enabled me to escape homelessness and find support in maintaining and intentionally living out my sobriety."

Succatti is a mother of three, a Bay Area native, and a fierce advocate for those without a voice. Her love for people and her compassion for others motivate her to serve and volunteer wherever she sees a need. She believes that our communities are only as strong as their weakest members, and it is our responsibility to strengthen them one member at a time. Living by her beliefs, she seized the opportunity to be part of a coalition of organizations in Alameda County that formed an ironclad eviction moratorium to protect the many residents who lost jobs due to COVID-19 and the stay-at-home order.

During Betty's formative years, she attended school in the Bay Area before moving on to study Accounting and Finance at UCLA. She then earned a degree from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, CA. In the last 20 years, she worked in the Bay Area for electronics companies in accounting and finance before moving to the Central Valley to continue her career in the same fields. Her aspirations later led her to pursue a Real Estate Broker's License and open her own real estate brokerage. These endeavors have allowed her to become sensitive to the needs of others and provide them with valuable information before making decisions. She enjoys the opportunities that have arisen, enabling her to serve and help others at a level that those in need can understand and trust.

The Story of Danial Jackson

This young man had a family that loved him and wanted him, yet he chose the life of drugs and living on the streets instead. At his funeral, people in his homeless community shared countless stories of his generosity and kindness. This young man’s name was Daniel Jackson. I was inspired because of the many stories by his friends of how he gave. In Spite of not having much himself he was known as a kind and generous man. Lord let not another person’s life have no meaning that is why we are Daniel House.
